Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Provider Network recognizes CareSource with Innovation Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Provider Network (OBHPN) announced Wednesday they have awarded their first-ever Innovation Award to CareSource. The presentation was made to CareSource at the OBHPN annual all staff meeting in Columbus. The Innovation Award is provided to a single outstanding partner that innovates to better serve people with severe mental illness.
“CareSource was selected by OBHPN because of their on-going support and development of our shared enterprise data warehouse (EDW), which will significantly improve quality outcomes for our members,” said Eric Morse, OBHPN Board Chairman. “CareSource cares about people with severe mental illness and the Ohio safety providers that serve them. Their on-going investment supports our vision to provide the tools needed to integrate our providers to deliver coordinated, high-quality health care to Ohioans struggling with severe mental illness and addiction.”
The Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Provider Network is comprised of 27 long-standing Ohio community behavioral health organizations who combined, provide more than 3 million services to more than 225,000 Ohioans of all ages every year. The network serves more than half of all people with severe and persistent mental health illness in Ohio’s community behavioral health system by providing the full continuum of mental health and substance use disorders services while attending to every person’s whole needs, including behavioral, physical, relational, and social.

The EDW will improve the quality outcomes for OBHPN members by aggregating data across all participants for reporting and consistent quality monitoring and improvement of performance and outcomes. It will also create reports to enhance patient outreach and engagement, coordinated care across the state among members to ensure continuity of care as members move throughout the state.
