New Lease Agreement Brings Veteran-Owned Business Downtown

Flyboys Deli Location Construction to Begin on N. Patterson Boulevard

(Dayton, Ohio – March 2, 2020) CareSource and Flyboys Deli have signed a lease agreement to establish a new location for the eatery on N. Patterson Boulevard next to Winans Chocolates & Coffee. Construction to create the iconic Flyboys’ aviation flair will be completed over the next few months. This marks the second eatery in CareSource’s Ballpark Village following the successful opening of Winans on January 17, 2020.

“We could have added more office space in that area but we wanted to do something more,” said David Clapper, director of facilities management at CareSource. “We decided to add amenities that improve the experience of the people who live, work and play in the downtown area including our employees.”

The co-owner's husband/wife team of Flyboys, Steve Crandall and Eunice Kim, say the location is ideal.

“The proximity to the ballpark, the river, local offices and the new apartments and condos makes the location just perfect for us,” said Crandall. “CareSource has been super accommodating and a real partner throughout the entire process.”

While details are still being established, Crandall says Flyboys on N. Patterson will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week, closed on Sundays. There will be a patio, a main restaurant area in front, three meeting rooms with audio and visual capabilities and a full-service bar. The menu maintains their New York style Deli like in Oakwood but will also include Kim’s unique take on Korean cuisine. Aces Club will be on Thursday evenings, Trivia on Tuesdays and occasional live music on the weekends.

“We feel it’s our responsibility to contribute to the ecosystem all around our campus of buildings by partnering with well-established businesses who will be in Dayton for the long-term,” Clapper said. “Flyboys Deli is a Dayton classic and a perfect fit.”
