Tia Marcel Moretti to be promoted from CareSource Ohio’s Director of Behavioral Health
(DAYTON, Ohio – January 6, 2021) – Tia Marcel Moretti, CareSource Ohio’s Director of Behavioral Health, has been selected to lead Kids’ CareAllianceTM as CEO. The Kids’ CareAlliance is a new collaboration between CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, and the Ohio Children’s Alliance, a statewide network of community agencies who serve children and families.
“Kids’ CareAlliance has an incredible opportunity to transform how we serve Ohio’s children and families, to ensure families can focus on health and healing rather than how to navigate the systems intended to serve them,” said Moretti. “We are dedicated to implementing the vision of OhioRISE so systems are accessible and accountable for service and outcomes resulting in fewer families feeling disempowered the way my mother and I felt.”
Moretti grew up as a multi-system youth in one of the most impoverished neighborhoods in the Columbus area. As an only child in a single-parent home, where her mother was unable to find treatment for addiction and mental illness, Moretti was often engaged in children’s services and other systems. Throughout her childhood, she witnessed first-hand the complexities and stigmas families face when trying to navigate multiple systems.
Now a licensed social worker and Ohio certified prevention consultant who has worked in the community-based mental health and addiction space for 22 years, Moretti has dedicated her career to serving Ohio’s adults, families, and children who are impacted by substance use disorder (SUD) and growing the footprint of prevention services for children and youth impacted by trauma, adverse events and who were living with a parent who struggled with substance use disorder.
In Moretti’s new role, she will focus on working at the state and local level to lead the specialized managed care program. The Kids’ CareAlliance’s mission is to improve quality of life for Ohio’s children, families and caregivers by ending the stigma of complex behavioral health needs and the burden of coordination across multi-agency systems.
Kids’ CareAlliance has submitted a bid for the OhioRISE (Resilience through Integrated Systems and Excellence) business that was formally announced by the Ohio Department of Medicaid on October 28.
