CareSource Foundation Launches New Funding Initiative for Human Services Organization Challenge

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (CARESOURCE) – The CareSource Foundation announced today that nonprofit organizations in Asheville and surrounding counties will be eligible for funding through the CareSource Foundation Human Services Support Challenge, an effort that helps advance nonprofit practices and operations that put effective, practical solutions to work to address the needs of the community.
“North Carolinians know best which organizations are moving the needle to address the needs of their communities and so the CareSource Foundation is looking to follow their lead,” said CareSource North Carolina market president, David Herndon. “Our goal is to support the sustainability and expansion of the organizations that are leading the way with important work that improves health outcomes and access and helps everyone learn from what works best.”
The CareSource Foundation Human Services Organization Support Challenge will roll out in North Carolina through the CareSource Foundation website, which also includes nomination eligibility, selection criteria and deadlines. The state-specific competition invites the community to nominate and vote for nonprofits. Organizations are encouraged to rally their supporters for votes to increase their chances of winning. The top 10 finalists will receive an award.
Eligible nonprofit organizations in western North Carolina area include those in Allegheny, Ashe, Avery, Buncombe, Burke, Caldwell, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey counties.
