TALLAHASSEE, FL (September 14, 2023) -- In the wake of Hurricane Idalia's destructive impact on Florida, CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit managed care organization, has demonstrated its commitment to supporting recovery efforts by contributing $50,000 to the Florida Disaster Fund.
The Florida Disaster Fund, managed by the Volunteer Florida Foundation, is the official private fund for the State of Florida during times of emergency or disaster. In partnership with public and private sectors, as well as non-governmental organizations, the fund plays a pivotal role in supporting response and recovery activities.
“As a Florida resident, I’ve seen first-hand the devastating effects of this storm,” said Larry Smart, Chief Financial Officer at CareSource. “I’m proud to be a part of CareSource's dedication to assisting communities in need during challenging times, and the funds provided will be directed towards aiding Floridians and rebuilding the communities to thrive once more.”
CareSource's donation will be directed towards aiding Floridians affected by Hurricane Idalia. They will be used to provide essential resources, shelter, food and medical assistance to Floridians who have been affected.
The Florida Disaster Fund acts as a lifeline to service organizations actively engaged in disaster response and recovery within their communities. By supporting these organizations, the fund facilitates the delivery of critical aid and assistance to those who need it most.
The company hopes its generosity will serve as an inspiration for others to come forward and support the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in Florida.
