CareSource and Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity launch free financial education program

My Money. My Future. Provides CareSource Members with Financial Education and Coaching 

ATLANTA (January 19, 2023)–  CareSource, a mission-driven Medicaid plan serving more than 500,000 Georgians, announced today its partnership with Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity to launch “My Money. My Future.,” a free financial education and confidential one-on-one coaching program that helps CareSource members achieve saving goals and implement strategies to improve financial health. The ultimate goal of “My Money. My Future.” is to help members achieve the goal of home ownership. This is the second time CareSource has partnered with a Habitat for Humanity affiliate in Georgia to provide its members with supportive financial services, having supported the same program through the Atlanta affiliate. 

“This important undertaking by the Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity will empower our members in and around Savannah reach their financial goals and prepare them for the responsibility of homeownership” said Sheryl-Anne Murray, CareSource Vice President of Market Operations. “We strongly support our members in achieving home ownership, which is key to preventing intergenerational poverty, increasing opportunities to build wealth, and improving mental and physical health. 

The Coastal Empire Habitat for Humanity “My Money. My Future.” program has three parts to help ensure participants are mortgage ready by program completion: education, financial coaching, and personal and professional development. Participants work individually with financial coaches to create a personalized road map to reach financial goals. Educating participants to set and achieve financially sound goals puts them one step closer to breaking the cycle of poverty.
