CareSource Chief Human Resources Officer Jennifer Dougherty has been recognized by the Dayton Business Journal with a Leader in Diversity Award for 2023. Honorees will be recognized in both online and print editions of the business publication on November 3.
The award honors individuals within the community who have shown outstanding initiative to promote diversity and inclusion, either in their organization or community, making a positive difference in others’ lives through contributions to social justice, equality and diversity.
“I am incredibly proud to be in an organization that receives this award -- and to be among a team who truly understands and makes a difference to ensure CareSource affirmatively reflects the real world we live in so our employees can come to work in an environment as their authentic selves every day," said Dougherty. "Our focus to mature diversity, equity, and inclusion are woven into how we operate every day, and we continue to evolve and grow with the world around us.”
Jennifer has a passion to integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) into every part of the employee life cycle and business. Her leadership is focused on strengthening DEI efforts across the workforce, workplace, and communities served. She has led the efforts to advance the CareSource mission, vision and values through corporate-wide DEI initiatives and data-driven action planning across the organization.
Jennifer serves at the Senior Executive Sponsor of the Equity Council and Employee Resource Groups. The CareSource Equity Council is comprised of employees from across the organization who provide governance and strategic guidance to ensure decisions are made within the boundaries of diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices. The Equity Council seeks to cultivate a sustainable culture of equity and inclusion by fostering collaboration among people of diverse experiences to support the unique needs of both our employees and our communities.
Jennifer has successfully furthered the impact of the Equity Council by growing the Employee Resource Groups, which are a critical component of CareSource’s inclusion strategy. She ensures these voluntary, employee-led groups provide a safe space and community for underrepresented groups and foster a diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with organizational mission, values, goals, and business practices.
