CareSource Supports Flood Recovery Efforts in Central Appalachia
August 2nd, 2022 | 1 min read
After severe flooding in eastern Kentucky and West Virginia, the governors of both states have issued a State of Emergency and President Biden issued a major disaster declaration. CareSource is providing support for members, employees and communities affected by the disasters.
“The flooding has devastated many individuals and families and limited access to food, electricity, water and shelter,” said Mike Taylor, Kentucky and West Virginia Markets President at CareSource. “It's times like these where the CareSource mission of making a lasting difference in our members' lives by improving their health and well-being is more important than ever.”
Employees within a number of departments at CareSource are in the process of contacting members through phone calls, email and text campaigns to ensure they have the support they need during this crisis.
The CareSource Foundation regularly supports the American Red Cross, United Way and other emergency response organizations throughout the year to assist with disaster situations like these.
In response to the flooding and to assist individuals impacted, the CareSource Foundation will be donating $25,000 to the Red Cross of Kentucky and $25,000 to the Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund.
