CareSource, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan with over 2 million members, has been named to the Military Times Best for Vets: Employers list for 2024.

The Military Times Best for Vets: Employers ranking assesses companies on their policies, practices and benefits for veterans, military spouses and their families. The survey and scoring process highlights the support companies provide to military-affiliated members, along with an analysis of workplace culture and support systems focused on helping veterans transition to civilian roles.

"Being recognized on The Best for Vets: Employers list for 2024 is an honor and a testament to our commitment to supporting those who have served,” said Jennifer Dougherty, chief human resources officer at CareSource. “We are dedicated to creating a workplace that values the skills, resilience and leadership that military-affiliated employees bring. This recognition inspires us to continue building an inclusive, empowering environment for all to thrive in civilian careers."

To be considered for the list, companies submitted a detailed application highlighting their veteran and military spouse hiring practices, retention strategies and tailored support programs. The evaluation process assessed each organization’s commitment to veteran and military spouse employment, considering the following factors:

  • Recruitment and Employment Practices
  • Training and Development Opportunities
  • Employee Benefits Designed for Veterans and Military-Affiliates
  • Retention and Support Programs
  • Recognition of Service
  • Partnerships
  • Recruitment Support
  • Inclusive Workplace Policies and Practices
