Since the hurricane made landfall, CareSource's Life Services team has outreached and began offering resources and support to members directly impacted by the storm. The organization's efforts are focused on providing critical resources including food, housing assistance, emergency financial aid, utility support and debris cleanup.

“We are standing with the communities affected by Hurricane Helene, doing everything we can to ensure they have access to the resources and support they need,” said Jason Bearden, market president, CareSource Georgia. “Our priority is to help our members, their families and their communities navigate this challenging time and provide relief where it’s needed most. We will continue working to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene as our state continues to recover.”

Looking Ahead

CareSource is also preparing to address the long-term impacts of Hurricane Helene, including concerns related to school and daycare closures, which are affecting

members' finances and their ability to maintain employment. CareSource’s Member Engagement team will be distributing detailed resource lists to impacted members across several counties, including Jefferson, Toombs, Ware and Richmond.

As the recovery process continues, CareSource remains dedicated to providing ongoing support to all affected members. A comprehensive Disaster Relief Resource List has been made available, which includes contact information for organizations like the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Feeding Georgia and others. These resources are designed to help members access food, shelter and financial aid as they rebuild their lives.
