CareSource Employees Celebrate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

On April 26^th, CareSource hosted their first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Celebration for employees to celebrate champions of DEI. The event recognized CareSource leaders who help move the DEI strategy forward through employee-led groups including the Equity Council, and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). The event celebrated the passion, efforts, and hard work of founding leaders that helped establish a variety of employee-led groups.

President and Chief Executive Officer, Erhardt Preitauer, encouraged new leaders and executive sponsors to:

"Continue this great work; don’t let it drop. I challenge you to remember the difference is you, but be hyper-aware, it will take our collective efforts to keep moving this great organization forward.”

DEI empowers CareSource employees to shape the future of the health care industry and better serve the needs of members, health partners and communities. The goal is to continually guide CareSource toward a sustainable, inclusive culture that not only represents employee and member populations, but leverages diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills, viewpoints in order to realize health equity for all members.

Almost a fourth of our employee population have stood up as DEI Champions to help move our strategy forward,” said Patrice Harris, director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at CareSource. “Whether as members of one of our employee-led groups or volunteer facilitators of our Healthy Conversations—open dialogue session centered on DEI topics—every CareSource employee is responsible for creating a sustainable culture of inclusion and belonging for each of us."
