HOUSTON, Texas (CareSource) - To support the Houston Fire Department’s (HFD) Operation Stocking Stuffer initiative, CareSource Bayou Health, a joint venture between Legacy Community Health and nonprofit managed care organization CareSource, purchased $15,000 worth of toys to serve the community and families in need. About 20,000 children across Houston benefit from HFD’s annual toy drive, and CareSource Bayou Health is proud to have made a tangible impact on the community by donating about 1,000 toys to the initiative. This year, Operation Stocking Stuffer hopes to serve 30,000 children, or 7,500 families.

“CareSource Bayou Health was overjoyed to work alongside the Houston Fire Department and community partners to bring smiles to Houston families this giving season,” said Jason Neerman, Vice President of Business Development, CareSource Bayou Health. “Our organization strives to provide resources to those in need, and we believe all children and families deserve the opportunity to celebrate the holidays with new toys and full hearts.”

“It was such an honor to participate in HFD’s Operation Stocking Stuffer by being able to shop for the children of Houston. Every child should have the opportunity to be able to open a gift this holiday season, and it is great to see our community partners coming together to make this happen,” said Council Member Mary Nan Huffman. “I’d especially like to thank CareSource Bayou Health for inviting me to come out to help clean out the shelves of Target! It was amazing to see how many children their donation will be able to make this holiday season a little more magical.”
