Ready to join our network? Here’s what comes next.
Start the Contracting Process
We are excited that you want to join the HAP CareSource™ MI Health Link (Medicare-Medicaid Plan) network in Michigan.
If you’re ready, visit the HAP site and complete the appropriate application.
If you are interested in joining our HAP CareSource MI Health Link network, view the HAP Contracting site to get started or email providernetwork@hap.org.
Download our credentialing policy to learn about:
- HAP’s credentialing standards requirements and procedures
- Your right to review information obtained from outside sources to support your application
- Your right to correct erroneous information
- Your right to be informed of your application status throughout the credentialing process
HAP CareSource MI Health Link selects its network of physicians for all its plans based on credentialing standards which, at a minimum, include:
- Current medical license in good standing
- Current malpractice insurance
- Board certified in their specialty
- Participation in a HAP-affiliated hospital
- Favorable references
HAP CareSource MI Health Link selects its network of hospitals for all its plans based on credentialing standards which, at a minimum, include:
- Current license
- Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Certification
- Accreditation for meeting national clinical quality and patient safety standards
Your Application
HAP CareSource MI Health Link is a participating organization with CAQH. Please make sure that we have access to your provider application before you submit your CAQH number as referenced above:
- Log on to CAQH using your account information.
- Select the Authorization tab.
- Make sure HAP CareSource MI Health Link is listed as an authorized health plan.
- If not, check the Authorized box to add.
Please also include the following documents:
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate
- Malpractice insurance fact sheet
- Clinical Laboratory Improvement Awards (CLIA) certificate, if applicable
- Standard Care Agreement (SCA), if an advanced practice nurse
- Supervisory agreement, if a physician assistant
It is essential that all documents are complete and current, or HAP CareSource MI Health Link will discontinue the contracting and credentialing process.
If you have missing or expired documents, the Credentialing staff will send you a letter with instructions to correct and submit the updated information.

Welcome to the HAP CareSource MI Health Link network! Once you receive your Welcome Letter, you have completed the contracting and credentialing process.
As you prepare to see HAP CareSource MI Health Link members, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our plan, tools and resources.
Create a HAP CareSource Provider Portal account
If you are not registered with HAP CareSource’s Provider Portal, please follow these steps:
- You will access the HAP CareSource Provider Portal through the HAP Portal.
- Only one username and password to remember for both portals.
- Current users of the HAP Portal can click on the button below to log in on the HAP site.
- New users to the HAP Portal can go the HAP site and select Register. Once you log in on the HAP site, select the HAP CareSource link and it will take you to the secure HAP CareSource Provider Portal.
Set up electronic payments
HAP CareSource MI Health Link has partnered with ECHO Health, Inc. to deliver provider payments. ECHO offers three payment options:
- Electronic fund transfer (EFT) – preferred
- Virtual Card Payment (QuicRemit) – Standard bank and card issuer fees apply*
- Paper Checks
*Payment processing fees are what you pay your bank and credit card processor for use of payment via credit card.
Enrollment Instructions
Enroll with ECHO for payment and choose EFT as your payment preference for HAP CareSource MI Health Link.
