Here, driving you to get care.

As a HAP CareSource member, you have free rides to and from medical appointments. You can get transportation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This includes:

Additional transportation services include the following:

• Ongoing services, such as dialysis, chemotherapy, substance use disorder (SUD) services, physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
• Services for MIHP, or other MDHHS approved evidence-based home-visiting program, enrolled pregnant and infant beneficiaries to access health care and pregnancy-related appointments and for a mother to visit their hospitalized infant. Pregnancy-related appointments include those for oral health services, WIC services, mental or substance use disorder treatment services, and childbirth and parenting education classes.
• Medically necessary, non-emergency ambulance transportation to Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) and Community Mental Health Services Program (CMHSP) related services.
• You also get 5 round trip visits per month to pick up health food and personal care items at food banks, food pantries and picking up online orders at grocery stores.*

*Visits must be within a 25-mile radius of your location.

If you have any special needs for your trip, let us know when you schedule your transportation. HAP CareSource can make sure you have what you need for your next trip. This includes:

• Making sure the right type of transport is provided. This could include special vehicles for people with physical or mental needs, pregnant women, babies, people with children (and the need for car seats), and extra passengers needed to support the person.
  • Special modes of transport include, but are not limited to:
    • Vehicles with wheelchair lifts
    • Medi-Van vehicles
    • Medically necessary attendants
    • Other transportation-related support needs to ensure your safe transport
  • Review your housing situation when deciding where to pick you up and drop you off.

Please know that any special details about your transportation will be kept private.

Transportation is not allowed for personal use (i.e. hair appointments, picking up children from daycare). Call 1-833-230-2053 (TTY: 711), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to schedule your ride or request mileage reimbursement.
