Exercise During Pregnancy
Get Moving and Stay Fit
Being pregnant is a great reason to get serious about exercise. It can help you feel better, gives you more energy, and reduces aches and pains. Another bonus: Exercise releases “feel good” chemicals in your brain called endorphins that boost your mood.
If that doesn’t convince you, how about this: Being in good shape during pregnancy means you’ll be more likely to have an easier labor and delivery.
If you’re new to exercising, be sure to ask your doctor if there are any reasons you might need to adjust your exercise plans.
Myth-Busting: Is Exercise Safe?
“I’ve never exercised before; is it safe to start?” “Is it okay to run?” “Can I keep up with my Zumba classes?” “Should I still do ab workouts?”
You may hear all kinds of advice from family and friends, but it’s better to get the facts. In most cases, the answer to all these questions is “yes.” See the links below to articles that will put your mind at ease and show you how to get up and work out.
