CareSource Residency Program Overview
Mission:
The mission of the residency program at CareSource is to develop patient-centered managed care pharmacists who become leaders in the profession of pharmacy and at their future organizations. Residents will gain from the program a strong foundation of managed care knowledge and a skill set that will enable them to provide cost-effective, accessible, and high-quality care to members and to lead others.

Learning Experiences
Develop the skillset necessary for pharmacist success within a managed care organization through:
- Completion of a research-based or quality improvement project and presentation at a national conference
- Formulary management, including policy writing and creating coverage criteria
- Clinical innovation program monitoring and creation
- Prior authorization review
- Teaching certificate program through Cedarville University with the opportunity to pursue additional on-campus responsibilities
- Teaching a managed care course to Cedarville and Butler University Students
- Precepting APPE students
- Mentorship by CareSource personnel
- Professional development and leadership
Application Guidelines
Applicants Must:
- Be a graduate or candidate for graduation from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program
- Be licensed or eligible for state pharmacist licensure
- Provide letters of recommendation upon request
- Provide curriculum vitae
- Provide official university transcript from school of pharmacy
- Participate in a preliminary telephone interview
- Participate in an in-person interview for selected candidates
