Accessibility for People with Disabilities and Compliance with Section 508
CareSource is committed to meeting or exceeding the requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d), as amended in 1998.
Section 508 isa federal law that requires agencies to provide people with disabilities equal access to electronic information and data comparable to those who do not have disabilities, unless doing so would impose an undue burden on the agency. The Section 508 standards are the technical requirements and criteria used to determine whether the agency is meeting the requirements of this law.

CareSource will accommodate an individual pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (2010) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by ensuring we will
- Provide services and programs in the most integrated setting appropriate to the needs of the qualified individual with a disability,
- Ensure that all covered programs, services, activities, and facilities are accessible,
- Make reasonable modifications in their policies, practices, and procedures to avoid discrimination based on disability, unless it would result in a fundamental alteration of the program,
- Provide auxiliary aids, such as alternative medical devices, drug administration, or other enhancements, to persons with disabilities, at no additional cost, where necessary to afford an equal opportunity to participate in or benefit from a program or activity.
The regulations implementing the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA require that we provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, such as blind or vision impaired be provided with auxiliary aids at no cost to allow them an Equal opportunity to participate in and benefit from healthcare services. The decision regarding the method to be used for communication requires the input of any individual requiring auxiliary aids, and their choice must be given primary consideration.
