Cathy Mahaffey oversees health plan operations in Wisconsin in her role as CEO, Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative and CareSource Market President, Wisconsin.

With more than 30 years of experience in health insurance, Cathy is a dynamic leader known for her mission-driven, members-first approach. She played a pivotal role in launching Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC), one of the most successful federally designated Consumer Operated and Oriented Plans (CO-Ops) in the country. In her work as CEO, she fosters innovation, drives organizational success and maintains a steadfast focus on member satisfaction.

In addition to her role at CareSource and CGHC, Cathy serves on the board of the Common Ground Healthcare Foundation and the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality. She is also the vice chair of the Wisconsin Association of Health Plans board of directors.

Cathy earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
